There are very few products I’ve used consistently through multiple seasons of motherhood.
But this 3-tier rolling cart?
It’s one of them.
As an occupational therapist and mom, I’m always looking for storage that:
- Reduces clutter
- Improves accessibility
- Supports independence
- Adapts as life changes
This cart has done all of that — and more.
You can find the one we love here:

Why a Rolling Cart Works (From an OT Perspective)
What makes this cart so functional isn’t just the tiers.
It’s mobility.
Instead of creating more fixed storage that overflows, a rolling cart:
- Moves to where care happens
- Keeps essentials within reach
- Reduces repetitive trips up and down stairs
- Prevents clutter piles in high-traffic areas
- Creates “contained zones” instead of scattered mess
And that’s huge for stress reduction.
How We’ve Used It Through Every Season
1️⃣ The “Code Brown” Cart (Diaper Station Era)

When our boys were little, this cart lived wherever we were most.
It saved us from running upstairs constantly.
Top tier:
- Diapers
- Wipes
- Rash cream
- Sanitizer
Middle:
- Burp cloths
- Extra onesies
Bottom:
- Backup diaper packs
- Changing pad liners
- Blankets / Swaddles
2️⃣ The Breastfeeding + Pump Cart (might have been my favorite use and also responsible for the second purchase)

It rolled next to the couch at night and tucked away during the day.
3️⃣ Book + Small Toy Rotation

As the boys grew, it became our reading + quiet play cart.
This reduced toy overwhelm and made cleanup easier.
When the cart was full, we rotated.
Simple boundaries = less chaos.
4️⃣ Dorm Essentials Gift (Such a Fun Idea)
We’ve gifted this cart to college students and personalized with custom name stickers from Etsy:
Great storage for small spaces even in apartments.
Pro tip:
- Measure under counter and small spaces first. Some include a handle, look at carts without the handle at top for tighter spaces.
- Many roll-under sinks and countertops have clearance — but check dimensions before ordering.
5️⃣ Bathroom Overflow Storage or Closets
Because it’s vertical it fits these small spaces beautifully for toiletries, hair tools, extra toilet paper, backup supplies.
Currently?
It lives in our boys’ closets as it stores their games, toys, and books leaving the shelves open for shoes and clothes.
What to Look For When Buying One
If you’re shopping for a cart like this, check:
- Wheel quality (locking wheels are helpful)
- Weight capacity
- Shelf depth (can store a combination of containers perfectly when measured to fit)
- Height clearance (especially for dorms or roll-under counters)
This cart isn’t about being perfectly organized.
It’s about flexibility.
Instead of saying, “I’ll just set it there,” we created a mobile home for essentials.
And that small shift has made our home:
- Safer
- Calmer
- More functional
Joyful spaces don’t happen by accident.
They happen when systems support real life.
